This is a 45-min talk, followed by 15-mins for Q&A and discussion.
During times of conflict and uncertainty, the experience of each individual is deeply personal. This session offers a space to pause and bring awareness to how current events may be impacting you.
What This Session will Provide:
- Learn how to recognize how regional events may be impacting your mind, body, and relationships.
- Practice evidence-based self-regulation and grounding tools to intentionally show up for yourself with care and compassion.

- Those worried about the safety of loved ones in the affected areas.
- People experiencing emotional fatigue, sadness, or helplessness from reading/consuming the news.
- Anyone searching to understand how what’s happening may be impacting them.
- Anyone looking for ways to cope.

About the Facilitator:
Farah Dahabi, Clinical Social Worker, Crisis and Trauma Support Services, Director
Farah is a US-trained mental health clinician with extensive experience working with individuals on some of the biggest challenges they face – aging, chronic pain, disability and degenerative disease, grief and loss, trauma, caregiver burnout, major depression, self-harm and suicidality. She also works closely with professional organizations and institutions to consult on the quality of their mental health policies and support resources. Farah serves as Director of Crisis and Trauma Support Services, as well as Mental Health First Aid UAE for The LightHouse Arabia. She frequently delivers Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISDs) to organizations and schools, and is a facilitator of various support groups and seminars for the community.
