The LightHouse Arabia is committed to improving Mental Health Literacy (MHL) in organizations. We offer delivery and instruction of evidence-based trainings, courses, workshops, information and intervention techniques, tailoring the delivery to the organization's unique context and needs. 

  1. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification Course: Our 10-hour, internationally recognized and accredited Adult-to-Adult MHFA training course gives designated employees the skills to identify and help a colleague who is developing a mental health condition or experiencing a mental health crisis. Employees will learn how to spot the signs of common mental health difficulties (including anxiety, depression, trauma and substance misuse difficulties), how to approach a colleague who may be struggling, and how to steer them to the right professional support. The best practice standard for organizations is to have one certified MHFAider for every five employees. The LightHouse Arabia has trained hundreds of organizations in the UAE in MHFA.
     
  2. Mental Health Champion Course: The Mental Health Champion Course is a 4-hour, highly interactive foundational workshop that empowers all members of an organization to identify, connect, and respond to mental health concerns – in themselves and in others - with knowledge and compassion. Mental Health Champions learn how to care for their own mental health as they deepen their knowledge of mental health and the signs of mental health struggles. Training Mental Health Champions raises an organization’s base level of mental health literacy, reduces stigma, normalizes mental health issues, and develops the organization’s internal capabilities to recognize and support mental health challenges.

    Post-training, 94% of attendees strongly feel they can structure a conversation with a colleague about their mental health.
     
  3. Mental Health Advocates Course (for Leaders): In any successful organization, leaders need to lead by example. The 4-hour Mental Health Advocate Course educates C-Suites, leaders and decision makers on how to promote a culture of psychological safety within an organization. Leaders learn the common signs of mental health struggles, develop skills to support colleagues who may be struggling, and understand how mental health struggles impact not only the individual’s but also the company’s performance. In this highly interactive and engaging course, leaders will learn how to set a supportive tone and culture for mental health within their organization.
     
  4. Skill-Building Masterclasses: To really move the needle on workplace wellbeing, people leaders often need to deep dive into the key mental health challenges of their workforce. Whether it’s mastering stress, fostering a culture of psychological safety in the organization, or understanding what burnout is and how to prevent it, our 2-hour masterclasses provide employees with a deeper understanding of the common issues impacting them with highly practical ways to address those issues.
     
  5. MHFA Refresher Course: The 4-hour MHFA Refresher Course enables those already certified in Mental Health First Aid to refresh their knowledge, stay on top of updates and information in the space of mental health, and it renews their internationally recognized accreditation. It is required every three (3) years.
     
  6. MHFA Support Sessions: Keeping newly acquired knowledge and skills fresh and top of mind can be a challenge in the busy work environment. Support sessions offer trained Champions, Advocates and Mental Health First Aiders the chance to receive support from each other and an expert facilitator to i) brush up on their skills, ii) consider and reflect on how they are using their training in everyday life, and iii) make space to process their own mental health and wellbeing challenges.

  1. Coffee Chats: Pause. Breathe. Reflect. Coffee Chats offer a unique opportunity for a group or team to come together to share their own experiences in relation to mental health and wellbeing. There is great power in hearing and witnessing the stories of others. Coffee Chats enable the group to understand they are not alone. They typically run between 60 – 90 minutes in length, and are most powerful when employees from various tenures and designations are present to enable the development of psychological safety.
     
  2. Executive Wellbeing Checks: In the whirlwind of professional demands, prioritizing personal wellness often falls by the wayside. The Executive Wellbeing Check is a 45-minute, one-on-one session with a clinician specializing in workplace psychology and mental health, and whereby individuals are offered the chance to pause and delve into their emotional wellbeing. Those who attend an Executive Wellbeing Check will discover insights on wellbeing markers, recognize their individual risk factors, and unlock pathways to fortify and nurture their emotional health and resilience.

Our 60-minute briefing, led by a crisis response specialist, offers up to 1,000 employees, the chance to learn healthy ways of coping with an overwhelming experience, and how colleagues can support one another. Our briefings unite and anchor team members by empowering them with the knowledge of what it is normal to experience emotionally, cognitively, and physically post-trauma, and lessens the emotional impact of the event which can mitigate depression, anxiety, and acute stress reactions.
     
  2. Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD): A traumatic event in the workplace such as a death, natural disaster or violent crime can trigger lasting psychological effects in even the most level-headed of employees. We offer Critical Incident Stress Debriefing sessions, a technique designed to assist a small group of your employees in processing the physical or psychological symptoms that are generally associated with trauma exposure.
     
  3. Trauma Debriefing Checks (Individual): In the midst of acute trauma, employees may need to speak to someone about their specific experiences. A trauma debriefing check is a personalized 45- minute session with a trauma specialist psychologist designed to guide employees to move through acute trauma. In this focused, one-on-one interaction, employees are supported to navigate their emotions, process their experience, and find healthy ways to cope.

Navigating Vulnerable Conversations in Challenging Times – for Leaders and Managers: Steering through turbulent waters of team dynamics at times of acute stress, ‘Navigating Vulnerable Conversations’ serves as a guiding light for leaders.
