Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Parkavi Sabanathan

When we feel truly understood, the path to change becomes clearer — together, we can find the way forward.

I believe every story is unique, and healing grows from being genuinely seen and heard. My approach is collaborative and grounded in compassion, helping you define your goals and supporting your journey toward meaningful change and clarity.

I am an Australian- trained Clinical Psychologist dedicated to creating a safe and compassionate space where people of all ages—children, adolescents, and adults—can feel heard, understood, and supported. Whether you are navigating a period of uncertainty, managing ongoing mental health challenges, or seeking personal growth, I work alongside you to help uncover strengths, build coping strategies, and foster resilience. I bring over a decade of experience in hospitals, community health centres, and educational settings across both public and private sectors, with expertise in supporting children, adolescents, and young people facing a range of complex mental health challenges, with a particular focus on improving relational and behavioural wellbeing.

Having lived, studied, and worked in four countries, I have seen firsthand how culture, identity, and life transitions can shape who we are and how we connect with others. I feel that these experiences have helped me connect with clients in a way that is authentic, humble, and deeply human. My approach is person- centred, culturally attuned, and grounded in evidence- based therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches, and behaviour modification strategies.  I work with a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, emotional dysregulation, identity exploration, relationship difficulties, eating disorders and strengthening parent–child connections. I value working collaboratively with families, schools, and community services when appropriate. Above all, my aim is to create a non-judgmental, empowering space where clients—whether young or adult—can navigate life’s challenges, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with clarity, self-compassion, and hope.
