Khushboo Budhwani

I am an Indian national, but Dubai has been—and will always be, home for me. Born and raised here, the city has shaped much of who I am personally and professionally.

I completed my BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Counselling at Middlesex University Dubai, before moving to the UK for postgraduate studies. I earned my MSc in Health Psychology from Coventry University and a second MSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. My previous role as an Assistant Psychologist at Priory Hospital in Nottingham (within an Acute and PICU in-patient service) allowed me to develop strong clinical and professional competencies, and specifically the ability to integrate empathy, understanding, communication skills, structure, and evidence-based practice to support individuals with complex emotional and behavioral needs.  I also gained experience as a Learning and Behavior Specialist at Ambitious About Autism College in London, which provided meaningful exposure to multidisciplinary teamwork and supporting teens and young adults with learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental difficulties. 

In my role as an Assistant Psychologist at The LightHouse Arabia, I combine my training, experience, and passion for mental health to help make each client’s entry into care as informed, supportive, and accessible as possible. As a member of the Assessments Team, I support early screening, psychological assessments, and client matching to ensure that each client is connected with the most suitable service and clinician for their unique needs.

My long-term goal is to become a Licensed Health Psychologist, supporting individuals in gaining more awareness and understanding of how unprocessed emotions get stored in the body and providing them with a safe space to express their emotions, while empowering them throughout their wellbeing journey.
