DEPUTY LEAD, EDUCATION TEAM
I am a clinical psychologist who subscribes to a relational mode of working. I have a history in working in the mental health care sector developing successful treatment plans and therapeutic processes. Our therapy room will be a collaborative space where I encourage co-created thinking, and supportive and empathic structures that give one the confidence in their sense of agency. With an ability to form authentic, insight-oriented and warm connections that assist in reaching one’s emotional and psychological goals, I am comfortable with nuance and complexity whilst assisting one to discover their true and authentic self. As a combined result of my clinical training, work and life experience, I am culturally sensitive and attuned to diversity, holistic healing and a transformative process.
Raised and educated in South Africa, I have worked in both the public and private hospital sectors, in addition to simultaneously working independently in private practice for over five years. My experience working with individuals has included working with both inpatient and outpatient populations, ranging from adolescents through to adulthood, and I also work with couples. I specialize in mild, moderate and severe psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, dual diagnosis, mood and anxiety disorders, complex trauma, personality disorders, addiction and childhood behavioral difficulties. For three years, I was a lecturer at The University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, where I lectured various Clinical Psychology modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
I have a passion for walking a personalized and individual journey with my clients. I describe myself as an 'extra mind in the room', as I am not an expert in your life, however, will offer you quality psychological and emotional expertise to accompany you towards health, functionality and ongoing healing. I believe in a “come as you are” approach whilst we unpack, discover, learn together and create significant shifts in key areas of your holistic life.
