Working with such a diverse & multi-skilled team at The LightHouse has been an invaluable experience. I have never felt as inspired and supported as I do within my work environment, to grow in a professional and personal capacity, and pursue my passions simultaneously.
I have lived in the UAE for 3 years and I gravitated towards working at The LightHouse because of their commitment to serve the community. It is exciting to be pioneering change in the field of mental health in the region. Whether it’s through the Raymee Grief Center, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), partnerships with schools, hospitals, or government – we are making deep and meaningful change. I also love the level of flexibility I have in setting my own hours. I am proud to work alongside a world-class team that truly empowers one another; personally, professionally, and financially.
I have worked in a number of therapy services in both private and public sectors in the UK and I have always valued working within a team. The team and the environment at The LightHouse have proven to be totally unique in a variety of ways, all positive! From the moment you enter each villa, there is a warm and welcoming reception from everyone. The team strives to make each other feel valued and appreciated both personally and professionally and this really makes the working environment a lot more enjoyable and fun! I can honestly say, each working day at The LightHouse is different – from the clients that I see to running different groups, trainings or workshops, and I love the diversity of this. I feel very encouraged by both management and my peers and I feel that my career journey is fully supported at TLH.
The LightHouse is really a wonderful clinic to work for. The team is a collection of very highly trained international therapists from a range of clinical backgrounds, which is particularly great for our bi-monthly peer supervision, as you get such an eclectic mix of formulations, thoughts and ideas for treatment plans and care packages. It really is a team environment here and the organisational culture whilst very professional, is very warm, friendly and welcoming, and it feels like the clinicians here are my extended family in Dubai. Everyone is happy to help each other, no more so than the owners and directors of the clinic, Saliha and Tara, whom you will always feel supported by and able to approach them with any internal or external concerns of the clinic, or living in Dubai. After 4 years of living and working in Dubai and having made contact with many other clinics and professionals, The LightHouse certainly goes above and beyond to support individuals, families, other professionals and the community in not only managing any mental health concerns, but also in raising awareness of mental health in the region and actively shaping it to be of a higher quality.
