Emilie Boutin , MSW (Canada)
Clinical Social Worker (DHCC Branch)
No one is meant to do life on their own. It is my honor to walk alongside you on this path, one step at a time, providing a safe place for you to gain more clarity and supporting you as you live the life you so greatly deserve. My commitment is to co-create a trusting relationship between us where all parts of you are welcomed, cared for and understood.
I sincerely believe that life, although challenging, is a beautiful adventure to cherish. The journey can be a whole lot more enjoyable for those who choose to build greater self-awareness, make an effort to better understand their connection to others and the world around them, and seek to discover their 'personal bliss.'
In my work as a Clinical Social Worker, I take a holistic and client-centered approach to your individual and/or your family’s needs. I strongly believe that the therapeutic process is co-created and by working together, we will identify the therapeutic goals and as well as identify the skills and tools that will need to help reach those goals.
From a young age, I was drawn to hearing about people’s unique stories and inner life and naturally inclined to support those who were struggling. Born and raised in Canada, I fed that curiosity and the need to care from an early age living within a culturally diverse community. As I grew older, my interests led me to pursue a career in Clinical Social Work. At the start of my career, I worked with children and women who suffered from domestic abuse. I later worked for various outpatient mental health centers, with a focus on adults with Borderline Personality Disorder, and then with children and families suffering from mental illness, behavioral difficulties and family conflicts. For several years, I worked at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Canada, where I had the opportunity to offer counseling to children, adolescents and adults on their journey through acute and chronic illness.
My journey lead me to relocate to Qatar for work, where I had the privilege to work with families and young people through offering therapy and counseling in the context of physical, terminal and mental illness, as well as family difficulties and a vast range of psychosocial issues. I spent five fulfilling years working in Qatar, prior to moving to the UAE to continue helping clients in the region to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
