“Doing as others told me, I was blind. Coming when others called me, I was lost. Then I left everyone, myself as well. Then I found everyone, myself as well.” – Rumi
I work with children 5 years+, adolescents and adults, and my passion is to to assist clients to live a life of intention. In doing so, I believe that the most important journey to embark on, is ‘Knowing Thyself’. I assist clients to engage in a collaborative and delicate pursuit of self-introspection. My goal is for each individual to feel seen, heard, valued, and supported.
I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of the Free State, South Africa[SA] in 2011. In SA, my work included seeing both in- and outpatients across the age range, conducting clinical interviews, engaging in many therapeutic interventions, functioning as part of various multidisciplinary teams based in hospitals and private practice settings, presenting group therapy sessions as well as employee training.
While I offer a wide range of different psychotherapy services to clients, I have a passion and extensive experience in working with complex psychopathology. The primary goal is to renew your insight into your inner world and current self, in order to integrate self-acceptance and change so that you can learn to live in the moment. I truly believe in the integration of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. However, I am eclectically trained and hence I will also tailor the treatment approach to the diagnosis and the evidence-based treatments thereof, as well as the uniqueness of the individual.
I offer therapy in both Afrikaans and English.
