Dr. Manuela Paone , PsyD (Italy)
Clinical Psychologist
I was born and raised in Italy where I trained and worked for years as a clinical psychologist. I am psycho-dynamic oriented and I have a holistic approach.
I see the therapist as the person who accompanies you on this journey, slowing down if you are tired, or even stopping if you need a break. I will supportively help you get up if you fall, and I will always be ready to help you resume your journey. Therapy is like a beacon: sometimes it will be brighter, other times it will seem less strong, but it will always be essential to light the path, and to turn difficulties and weaknesses into strengths. Along the way, we will develop coping and resilience skills together, to help you face life's challenges.
In more than 18 years, I have built experience as a judge's expert in the Juvenile Court, where I have worked on adoptions, traumatized children, conflicting families, abused women and various crimes. I have dealt with eating disorders, with particular attention to emotional eaters. In Italy, I also worked as a psychodynamics professor. I moved to the UK in 2009, where I worked as Lead Clinical Psychologist for a health care institution and where I dealt with particularly critical cases. Following this, I relocated to Saudi Arabia, where I lived and worked for eight years. Having spent many years in a multicultural environment, I have had the opportunity to work with people from diverse cultural contexts.
In parallel to the study of the mind, I have cultivated my passion for theater. I have taught acting, and I have been
involved in the direction and production of theatrical performances for more than twenty years. Theater and
psychology are intertwined, and I love to put them together whenever I can.
I firmly believe that everyone can have the opportunity to have a happy and peaceful life. My primary tool is
an innate empathy that I have refined with training and that leads me to have a warm and welcoming
therapeutic approach.
