Introduction to ACT: Guiding Adults and Adolescents to Develop Rich and Meaningful Lives

Kindly note, this is a two-day in-person training at The LightHouse Arabia

Date: Thurs. 17th & Fri. 18th March, 2022

Time: 9.30am - 2.30pm (10 hours total over 2 days)

Investment: 1,250 + VAT

Participants will receive: Course manual, Certificate of completion, 6.25 CME/CPD credit points from DHA.


This workshop will take place in-person at The LightHouse Arabia. Pre-registration is required. Limited spaces available. *COVID-19 health & safety measures are in place. Masks must be worn at all times and social distancing maintained. Please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms, or have been in contact with someone experiencing symptoms, regardless of their PCR result.

ABOUT ACT THERAPY

ACT is one of the fastest-growing, evidence-based behavioral therapies, with demonstrated effectiveness for both adults and adolescents. ACT stands out in that it:

• Has broad applications across the range of mental health issues, and especially for anxiety, mood, and eating disorders

• Is a heavily experiential type of therapy that commonly employs metaphors and dynamic activities

• Combines aspects of mindfulness and acceptance with behavioral interventions

WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN

Participants will be taught through didactic presentations, experiential exercises, and role-plays and will gain:

• In-depth understanding of the ACT Hexaflex model in adults and adolescents

• Different tools and techniques that are used in ACT therapy

• Knowledge of how to apply ACT skills when supporting both adults and adolescents
