“I believe that genuine empathy initiates and nourishes profound interpersonal and intrapersonal human experiences; and I am committed to be guided by it in my personal and professional life.”
Growing up in a culturally and ethnically diverse region, I hold in high respect the individual values and the personal and social ideologies we carry with us as members of a larger community. I gravitated towards Clinical Psychology and professionally pursued it due to my fascination with the patterns of emotions and behaviors humans form, and how each person experiences life differently. As a result I developed an understanding and appreciation for the diverse aspects which form personality of each individual.
As a psychologist my interest lays both in preventative and restorative work. My background includes working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a wide range of people who had varied psychological, emotional and interpersonal difficulties. I bring a person-centered approach in therapy, using evidence based interventions to meet the need of the clients. I have also spent time researching the effects of socially evaluative environments on youth and the psychological benefits of voluntarily engaging with one’s community.
